Our Mission
Simply put: Our mission is to change the world by inspiring girls!
In doing so, we prevent the development of gender bias at a very early age, when unconscious bias begins.
Our Approach
How does GIFT inspire girls and, in doing so, change the world?
We have three incredibly fun (and scientifically effective) programs: amazing women featured in live-streamed events at schools around the US, local events where girls can meet and connect with inspiring women on a personal level, and a fun website where girls can learn more and explore their own interests.
Studies & Scholarly Articles

Gender Stereotypes Begin Early
“Many children assimilate the idea that brilliance is a male quality at a young age. This stereotype begins to shape children’s interests as soon as it is acquired and is thus likely to narrow the range of careers they will one day contemplate.”

Identifying with Role Models Has Positive Impact on Self-Beliefs
Exposing girls to inspirational role models that have similar characteristics has a lasting impact on their self perception and perceived capabilities.

Stereotype Inoculation Model
Girls are drawn to groups that feel like a natural fit based on social stereotypes. Observing “experts and peers in high achievement settings” serves as “social vaccines who inoculate and strengthen [girls] self-concept so that they become free to choose less traveled paths.”

Gender Bias in Advertising
Study confirms gender bias in advertising remains strong. There continues to be a negative impact from media and advertising on the self-image of girls.
